I’m a Staff Customer Engineer and team lead at Google Cloud, working with strategic AI companies on the data platforms behind their products.

My work spans four things: scaling systems that are growing faster than their architecture was designed for, leading a team of customer engineers, translating technical decisions into business outcomes, and applied AI.

I’ve been building on data platforms for over a decade. I started out in data engineering and BI at Anthem, moved through consulting at MCA Connect, then spent three years at Microsoft as a Senior Cloud Solution Architect leading the Conversational AI partner team. I joined Google Cloud in 2021.

That path shows up in this blog’s archive. The early posts are DAX, SSAS and SQL Server; the recent ones are LLM applications and agent workflows. I’ve kept all of it, because the through-line hasn’t changed — making data useful to the people who need to make decisions with it.

The technical side: BigQuery and Dataform, streaming pipelines with Pub/Sub and Dataflow, Spanner and Bigtable, Apache Iceberg lakehouse design, and applied AI — agent architectures built with Vertex AI Agent Builder, LangChain, and Model Context Protocol (MCP).

The leadership side: I lead a team of customer engineers supporting premier AI clients. Much of that work is influence without authority — aligning engineering, product and go-to-market organizations around a technical direction, then building repeatable playbooks so the team’s capability outlasts any one person’s involvement.
